FLORIDA STATEWIDE FIVE-YEAR TRANSIT AND PARATRANSIT DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE TRANSPORTATION DISADVANTAGED. VOLUME 1: PROGRAM PERSPECTIVE
Passage of Chapter 427 F.S. set in motion a state level effort to bring about a major structural change in the provision of transportation services to the transportation disadvantaged persons in Florida. The creation of the Coordinating Council on the Transportation Disadvantaged (CCTD) in 1979 established a statewide policy and program to coordinate specialized transportation services. This 5-volume study discusses the first Statewide Five-Year Transit and Paratransit Development Plan and Transportation Improvement Program for the transportation disadvantaged in Florida. Volume 1: Program Perspectives, provides a perspective on the origins of the legislation, the activities and accomplishments to date, and the anticipated direction of future program initiatives.
