CALCULATION OF SEISMIC DESIGN PARAMETERS
PRORACUN PROJEKTNIH SEIZMICKIH PARAMETARA
The paper represents a contribution to the regulations for the construction of structures in seismic areas, i.e. investigations for a detailed determination of seismic parameters (design and maximum earthquake). The S.V. Medvedev and K. Kanai method for the determination of seismic parameters is presented. The seismic parameters are observed in relation to the soil characteristics when the seismic wave is speading. Some foreign authors studied the relation between the earthquake magnitude and particle soil oscillation. The deterministic and probabilistic approach is defined for the calculation of seismic parameters. The calculation of the seismic hazard and the modification due to local soil conditions based on the probabilistic approach are presented. For the covering abstract see TRIS 392632. (TRRL)
