TRAFFIC NOISE AND THE PERSONAL COMPUTER
VERKEERSLAWAAI EN DE PERSONAL COMPUTER
A simple minicomputer with some modest input and output devices is sufficient for the calculation of traffic noise. Non-specialists are able to calculate traffic noise with an equipment costing less than 10000 Dutch guilders and an easy computer program. Noise barriers can be built for traffic noise control. The results are always good because the two mathematical methods to be used are mandatory in the Netherlands. The two mathematical methods for the calculation of traffic noise are described. (TRRL)
