1978 ROADSIDE VEHICLE INSPECTIONS

The safety inspection of vehicles and drivers, conducted during periods of actual highway transport operations, is one of the activities of the Federal Highway Administration's Bureau of Motor Carrier Safety, intended to increase the safety of interstate commercial motor vehicle transport. This paper presents a compilation of the results of roadside vehicle inspection activities conducted at various locations throughout the country during 1978. (TRRL)
