TRAVEL BEHAVIOUR IN DENMARK IN A PERIOD OF ECONOMIC RECESSION
The results of a study of changes in travel behaviour in Denmark in recent years of economic recession are presented. Some of the findings go against expected trends. The use of public transport has increased, but so has the number of trips made by private car even though the total number of private cars in Denmark has been declining since 1979. The intention of the study is to investigate how Danish people have adapted their travel behaviour in the period of economic recession. The conclusions that can be drawn and the use of such information in the context of the Netherlands is discussed. (Author/TRRL)
