THE NATIONAL ROAD MAINTENANCE CONDITION SURVEY 1976-1983
With seven years of results available the national survey is now very firmly established and producing much valuable information with which to monitor the condition of the nation's highway system. More could be achieved with greater participation in the deflection survey, and ways of attaining this are being pursued. Further work is also to be undertaken on the factors that explain trends in condition, and in particular, on the relationship between expenditure and change in condition, which will further improve future annual reports of the survey's findings.
