IMAGE PROCESSING APPLIED TO TRAFFIC, 1-A GENERAL REVIEW

The general subject of image processing is reviewed, especially the analysis of sequences of images, aimed at movement detection and measurement. Several systems that are being developed specifically for traffic data collection are discussed. Finally, general comments are made concerning the suitability of video image processing for gathering various types of road traffic data. See also TRIS No. 393258. (TRRL)
