TRAFFIC ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTION

The report is mainly for the use of the Finnish road accident investigation teams. Formulae for calculating precrash speeds from skid marks are presented as well as other methods for estimating speeds and locations of vehicles during different phases of the accident process. Instructions for graphic description of the precrash movements of vehicles are also presented. A method for determining the causes of the accident on the basis of accident reconstruction is suggested. (TRRL)
