BICYCLE AND LIGHT-POWERED TWO-WHEELER ACCIDENTS - REPORT OF EEVC-WG8

The Dutch delegation of the European Experimental Vehicles Committee Group 7 "Pedestrian Injury Accidents" has suggested that attention should be given to bicycle-car accidents because in the Netherlands this type of accident happened more frequently than pedestrian-car accidents. In 1982 a working group was set up that deals with bicycle accidents and, as far as possible, also with light powered two-wheeler accidents, and a discussion paper was prepared for this group. The intention of the working group was to focus on number of accidents, integrated safety approach, and international coordination. The main results of the discussion paper are presented. For the covering abstract of the conference, see TRIS 393117. For abstract of the full report by the Working Group EEVC-8, see TRIS 393195. (TRRL)
