RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS, PERSONALITY FACTOR, AND BEHAVIOR DURING CONFLICT GAMES

ZUM ZUSAMMEN FASSUNG ZWISCHEN VERKEHRSAUFFAELLIGKEIT, PERSONLICHTKEITSFAKTOREN UND VERHALTEN IN KONFLIKTSPIELEN

The 16 pf personality factor structure of a group of drivers who had lost their driving licenses because of drunk driving or other serious traffic violations differed from the personality structure of a group of traffic experts (bus drivers) in a typical and expected manner. The former group chose alternatives termed "competitive choice" more frequently than traffic experts on a newly developed questionnaire containing conflict stories corresponding to prisoner's dilemma and chicken game matrices, but not in matrice games played sequentially for money. However, subjects with high scores of competitive choices in the questionnaire had the same personality structure according to 16 pf as the group of drivers who had lost their driving licenses. Results can be used to construct new tests. (Author/TRRL)
