CYCLE-STORES IN OLDER TOWN DISTRICTS
FIETSENSTALLINGEN IN OUDE WIJKEN
A study on the likely patronage of cycle-stores was carried out in two older districts of Rotterdam. Many people are not prepared to keep a bicycle at home because it is inconvenient to store it inside the home and unsafe to leave it in the street. If around-the-clock cycle stores were available in the neighbourhood 20% of the people interviewed would be prepared to use them. Adequate storage facilities would lead to an increase in cycle use and/or purchase of a new bicycle. (TRRL)
