ESTIMATING TRAFFIC INTENSITIES USING COMPOSITE TRENDS
HET SCHATTEN VAN INTENSITEITEN OP GROND VAN SAMENGESTELDE TRENDS
Presentation of a method for expanding traffic counts from individual periods to 12 hourly totals using two trends. The first and most important one represents the course of traffic intensities over the whole period. The second trend gives the characteristics for roads carrying heavy morning or evening peak flows. The present estimation shows not only how available but incomplete data can be expanded but also how one can save on traffic counts still to be carried out. (Author/TRRL)
