MEASURING PROPERTIES OF ROCK WITH A HIGH PRESSURE PRESSUREMETER

A high pressure pressuremeter has been developed for the insitu determination of strength and deformation parameters of rock. Shear strengths in excess of 10 mpa should be obtainable. Test data are collected in the field by means of a microprocessor data acquisition system. The new data can be calibrated and printed or plotted out in any required format in the field if desired. The analysis and interpretation of the test data is discussed. (Author/TRRL)
