ANALYSIS OF FULL SCALE EXPERIMENTAL REINFORCED EMBANKMENTS

A method of analysis based on the finite element method which allows for the elasto-plastic behaviour of the soil and bond failure between the soil and the reinforcement has been presented. In this paper, the method of analysis is used to model the behaviour of two full scale experimental reinforced embankments illustrating the ability of the analysis to predict the behaviour of reinforced soil up to and including collapse.
