A COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION OF PAVEMENT DESIGN PARAMETERS FOR KUWAITI SOILS

The paper briefly describes some of the salient results of a comprehensive study to investigate the part played by subgrade soil materials as are available in Kuwait. It also examines the correlations if any found to exist between laboratory measured resilient modulus, laboratory measured CBR values, peak shear stress ratio on a shear box at 10 kn/m**2 vertical stress and results from a simple impact Hammer test developed in Australia. The results demonstrate the inherent difficulty of predicting the dynamic response from the results of static tests. (Author/TRRL)
