STRUCTURAL DESIGN - A BUS OPERATOR'S VIEW
The structural concept of stage-carriage buses remained unchanged over many years, with a few notable exceptions. This paper examines the impact of past practice on the operator seeking a fifteen-year life from such vehicles, particularly in the aspects of structural integrity, ease of repair and corrosion problems, and looks forward to design changes aimed at improving these areas in future vehicles. For the covering abstract of the conference see TRIS 391971. (TRRL)
