MODELLING PROBLEMS IN THE DYNAMIC DESIGN OF AUTOBUSES

Assuming the vehicle to be a linear structure, the authors estimate the stress level for a wide range of operations, taking into account the traffic environment. The linearity of the vehicle structure was checked by a series of measurements carried out on a leaf-spring bus of the Ikarus type. The effect of the passenger load on dynamic stresses in the vehicle structure was studied. It was shown that passenger load significantly reduces vehicle vibrations by 10 to 30%.
