PROPOSED RECOMMENDED PRACTICE. DISPLAYS FOR METERED FREEWAY ENTRANCE RAMPS
The ITE developed a Recommended Practice for Ramp Metering Displays in 1976. Subsequently, Committee 4M-11 was charged with the task of reviewing present state-of-the-art and updating that Recommended Practice in a move toward greater uniformity. Drawing upon the experience and variations identified in 23 operational projects, this report represents the best agreement achievable in pursuit of the elusive goal of uniform displays for the unsophisticated motorist.
