GRAPHIC COMPOSITION OF DRIVING PATHS IN CURVES
GRAFISCHE CONSTRUCTIE VAN RIJCURVEN
Negotiating bends requires proper clearances. In "Woonerf" and shared space situations clearance should not be too generous so as to keep speeds low, yet thoroughfare must be guaranteed to vehicles of fire brigades, refuse collectors etc. Driving paths in curves may be composed by computer or, in practice, by trial and error. The author describes a drawing-board technique allowing the designer to prepare drawings without extra aids. (TRRL)
