MOTIVATION AND TRAINING OF TEACHERS
The contents of this paper are as follows: Aims of road safety education; Motivation of teachers; Teacher training; and Recommendations. Among the recommendations are: (a) Road safety education should become an integral part of curricula for teachers in compulsory education; (b) Teachers having so far not had any training for road safety education should qualify by means of special in-service training courses (voluntarily); (c) Teaching methods should be developed which would help to bring about certain attitudes and acceptance of certain values; and (d) Research should study problems of motivation and likely obstacles to be overcome.
