EQUILIBRIUM IN ELASTIC AND PLASTIC METHODS APPLIED TO FRAMES
The relationships are discussed between the form of equilibrium equation implicit in stiffness and in upper bound methods and the form implicit in flexibility and in lower bound methods. Direct transformation from one to the other is shown to be possible with advantages in simplification of preliminary work in setting up flexibility equations and unification of the concepts in ultimate load approaches to structural concrete.
