TRAUMA OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN TRAFFIC

TRAUMATIZAM DJECE I OMLADINE U PROMETU

This article presents general observations on traffic accident injuries in children, taking into consideration the anatomical and physiological characteristics of a child and their influence on the injuries sustained. Attention is drawn to the need for adequate first aid, transport, organization of casualty services and after care and rehabilitation of injured children and adolescents. The number of injured children and adolescents treated at the surgical ward of the General Hospital in Osijek in the period between 1977 and 1979 is given. (TRRL)
