ACOUSTIC EMISSION IN THE DEFORMATION OF CONCRETE (REVIEW)
This paper reviews studies on the acoustic emission of concrete, and considers the possibilities of its practical use in the nondestructive testing of concrete in engineering structures. The paper shows that much work has been done concerning the relationship of emission parameters to the strength and failure characteristics of concrete, but concludes that possibilities for use in nondestructive testing are yet to be established.
