EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS ON A PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BOX GIRDER
Experimental investigations carried out on a prestressed concrete box girder subjected to eccentric loading at various sections are discussed. The box girder was instrumented to yield information on the variation of prestressing force, longitudinal and transverse stresses as well as deflection profile. The paper presents the details of casting and instrumentation and discusses some of the test results. The behaviour of the box girder does not appear to be significantly influenced by the absence of support diaphragms. (Author/TRRL)
