PREPLANNING AND DOCUMENTS FOR OBTAINING PLANNING PERMISSION FOR A M-BAHN REFERENCE SYSTEM IN BRAUNSCHWEIG: PRESENTATION OF THE RESULTS OF THE FEASIBILITY STUDY

A suitable M-Bahn right-of-way was selected for the connection between the downtown areas of Braunschweig and Wolfenbuettel in this feasibility study. In the downtown area of Braunschweig two alternative routes are still possible. In the prephase of the planning process the transit-related, operational and economic aspects of this transit system installation were examined. In addition the documents for obtaining planning permission have been drawn up. At present discussions are being held with those institutions interested in realizing this project.
