CURRENT PRACTICE SHEETS. VOLUME 1

The present volume incorporates the first 95 current practice sheets which were published over the period November 1972 to may 1984, some of which were published in more than one part. The topics included in this volume range over design, materials, plant, formwork, transportation and placing, testing, maintenance and repair. There is also coverage of basic properties of concrete such as thermal movement, fatigue, creep, cracking, chemical resistance and fire resistance. Techniques in everyday use are included: ready-mixed concrete, prestressing, grouting, pumping, air-entrainment, large pours, joining of reinforcement, and a number of others. (TRRL) found eight LGAS (local government areas) which exceeded the upper control limit. In these LGAS, accident type rum03 greatest frequency. For "nearside" accidents the ratio of "emerging around parked vehicle" to no parked vehicle was also high in these eight LGAS as was the age group 28-57 accidents and indicates lines for further research.
