NATIONAL TRAFFIC FLOW SURVEY IN 1981. LONG DISTANCE BUS TRAFFIC
VALTAKUNNALLINEN LIIKENNEVIRTATUTKIMUS 1981. PITKAT LINJA-AUTOMATKAT
The Finnish Roads and Waterways Administration set up a national traffic flow survey in 1981 in which roadside interviews were carried out at 78 stations situated on main highways throughout Finland. Interview data concerning bus traffic were received from 4500 buses. In addition information about 13000 passenger trips was received by a postal questionnaire. This report introduces the long distance person-trip flows of the bus traffic between 22 districts and their centres. The report also introduces some of the most important features of the trips.
