QUESTIONS ON URBAN PUBLIC TRANSPORT DEVELOPMENT
O NEKIM PITANJIMA RAZVOJA JAVNOG GRADSKOG PROMETA
The purpose of the work, based on experiences in other countries, is to check the possibilities of urban public transport for the town of Zagreb. Mention is made of traffic problems in connection with urban areas, car use and some possibilities of solving traffic problems. Urban public transport systems are divided into conventional and unconventional systems, including primarily urban rail traffic systems. Public transport developments in some towns and their characteristics with special emphasis on Bruxelles, Hannover and Stuttgart are reviewed. It is concluded that two powerful urban public transport systems can be developed along with the existing railway and tramway network.
