THE THIRTY KILOMETER PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT
DE DERTIG KILOMETER PER UUR REGELING
As from April 1, 1985 it has been possible in the Netherlands to introduce within built-up areas a mandatory maximum speed limit of thirty kilometers per hour instead of fifty kilometers per hour. The possibilities for and the consequences of such an introduction in two areas in The Hague are studied. The advantages, disadvantages and costs of such a speed limit are presented. (TRRL)
