HIGH TENSILE STEEL IN SHIPBUILDING III--MATERIAL PROPERTIES, SHOP HANDLING AND ENVIRONMENTAL INFLUENCE (SSF PROJECT 5604)
This report is a summary report of research project 5604 High Tensile Steel in Shipbuilding, a joint research project organized by four shipyards, three steelworks, one welding-material firm and the Swedish Ship Research Foundation (SSF). Within this project an extensive investigation has been carried out of various properties of three different higher yield point steels with special regard to their use in ship structures. Fundamental and advanced strength investigations of base material and welded joints have been carried out, as well as studies on shop handling consequences and the influences of the environment on the welding results.
