SYSTEMS FOR PRESENTATION OF THE PRACTICAL CAPACITIES OF MACHINES

FORMER OCH SYSTEM FOER REDOVISNING AV PRAKTISKA MASKINKAPACITETER

A task force has carried out an inventory of a few of the systems to be found in Sweden for presenting machine capacities. A limitation set was that the work comprise comments from other Scandinavian countries. The working soil removal within the construction field. The investigation comprises seven users of systems where capacity presentation is a final or a partial product. The material was collected from civil service departments, municipalities, trade associations and machine manufacturers. It became apparent that those using the machines needed capacity data principally for: planning, resource selection, production control, rationalization. Machine manufacturers need capacity data primarily for machine development, but also for customer service with respect to production technique. The investigation revealed that quantity, time, and capacity concepts are usually treated in accordance with the principles recommended by the Transport Research Commission (TFK) in Sweden. These principles are also found in connection with capacity in the Norwegian and Finnish counterparts to the Swedish National Road Administration (SNRA). It is desirable that the collection and presentation of data be done in such a way that those concerned within the construction field can understand one another's data even if the degree of detail and the layout vary. This greatly promotes the possibility of an exchange of knowledge. (Author/TRRL)
