THE DYNAFLECT PAVEMENT STRENGTH MEASUREMENT SYSTEM AND ITS APPLICATIONS
The dynaflect pavement strength measurement system has been used in Ireland since 1977. The principle of operation of the dynaflect is described and a format for graphical presentation of the data is illustrated. The report discusses the interpretation and application of dynaflect data for establishing strengthening priorities and designing strengthening measures on existing road pavements, for monitoring the uniformity and strength of different layers during the contruction of new roads, for evaluating the strength of subgrades and for assessing the integrity of slabs and joints in concrete roads.
