DRIVING LICENCE OWNERSHIP AND VEHICLE OWNERSHIP IN 1981 AND 1982

BET RIJBEWIJSBEZIT EN AUTOBEZIT IN 1981 EN 1982

Results are presented of a study into the holding of driving licences and vehicle ownership in the years 1981 and 1982 in the Netherlands. Compared with data from 1978 they have decreased slightly. The growth of driving licence holding of women has decreased. The number of cars per driving licence has also decreased, in particular for women. There are now more people having a driving licence who do not own a car. This may have a structural cause, but can certainly also be caused by the economic recession, with lower incomes. (TRRL)
