THE USE OF THE MOISTURE CONDITION VALUE TEST IN ASSESSING SOILS FOR ROADWORKS
This report gives thge background to the development of the moisture condition value (MCV) test apparatus and its likely application in the solution of earthworks problems on road construction sites. It also gives the results of MCV tests on soils from a number of roadworks sites in Ireland and compares these results with those obtained using other test methods. The information contained in this report formed the basis of a paper delivered to a joint meeting of the Geotechnical Society of Engineers of Ireland and the Roads and Transportation Section of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland held in Dublin on 13 March, 1984.
