REDESIGN AND FIELD OPERATION OF A SELF-PROPELLED CAVITATING CONCRETE REMOVAL SYSTEM
The objective of this program was to redesign, build and demonstrate a self-propelled CONCAVER concrete removal system that utilized water cavitation erosion technology to accomplish the work. This final report presents an in-depth discussion of the significant elements of the program; specifically the design considerations, the fabrication and laboratory testing and finally the field demonstration. In addition, there are separate sections which include a cost analysis and system comparison and the conclusions and recommendations that resulted from this program. This program has promoted the advancement of water cavitation technology and has demonstrated its cost effectiveness and feasibility to be employed in large scale systems for concrete removal. (FHWA)
