ON A METHOD OF CALCULATING THE COMPACTNESS AND DRIFT OF ICE FLOES
The compaction of ice in summertime depends on both dynamic and thermal factors. Therefore, both the ice compactness and the ice drift cannot be reliably determined when only dynamic process are taken into account. (Author)
