GUIDE POLICY FOR TRAFFIC NOISE MEASUREMENT PROCEDURES
Important maters requiring detailed consideration before a traffic noise study is commenced are: where to take noise measurements, conditions under which noise measurements should be taken, parameters to be measured and recorded during noise measurements and the degree of accuracy required, the standard of instrumentation necessary to take these measurements, and recording of results. Guidelines on these topics are set out in detail in section 2, and Appendix A provides the reasons behind the recommendations. Guidelines are given for general noise studies and for noise prediction model studies. (TRRL)
