GUIDES FOR THE DESIGN OF DRIVEWAY ENTRANCES ON MAJOR ROADS IN URBAN AREAS
The guides detailed apply to roads on which there is not full control of access. Driveways are influenced by the needs and rights of users, owners and occupiers of adjacent land, the carriageway width, the type, volume and speed of traffic, the characteristics of the area and the ultimate development of the land, all of which need special consideration. Definitions of terms are followed by general principles and control dimensions for driveway clearance, width, angle, turnout radius and set-back. (TRRL)
