ANALYSIS OF NON-PRISMATIC BOX GIRDERS BY FEM
The behaviour of long span box girders of varying cross-section, particularly under antisystem-metric loading, is of interest to designers. The paper presents results of an analysis of non-prismatic box girders by the finite element method (fem). Mesh spacing for discretisation is examined from the point of view of convergence and in the region of concentrated load. The behaviour under antisymmetric loading and its sensitivity are discussed with the help of numerical examples. (Author/TRRL)
