DEVELOPMENT OF A NATIONAL ITEM BANK FOR TESTS OF DRIVING KNOWLEDGE
Materials intended for driving knowledge test development use by operational licensing and education agencies were prepared. Candidate test items were developed, using literature and operational practice sources, to reflect current state-of-knowledge with respect to principles of safe, efficient driving, to legal regulations, and to traffic control devices. Multiple-choice items were developed for testing drivers of passenger cars and light truck, motorcycles, and buses and trucks. An operational manual, 'Handbook for Driving Knowledge Testing', which includes multiple-choice items and tutorial test construction material, was prepared.
