OMEGA UTILIZATION FOR NON-MILITARY SUBSCRIBERS VOLUME 1 OF 11
A study addressed to the problem of making the OMEGA navigation system compatible with the needs of a wide spectrum of non-military users is summarized. The OMEGA system is briefly described along with the role of the Coast Guard in its future development; the goals of the study are outlined within this context. A survey of OMEGA configurations with emphasis on their applicability to non-military user needs is reviewed. Results of analyses of various aspects of OMEGA navigation based on quantities of actual phase data are discussed. Recommendations for future efforts toward the "civilianization" of OMEGA are included.
