T-WAGON PLANT: CHRYSLER'S PRODUCTIVITY SHOWPLACE
Chrysler converted its Windsor assembly plant from rear-wheel-drive M-body passenger cars to front-wheel-drive T-wagons. The plant features a flexible manufacturing system with robots and conveyors to rev up productivity. Automation and a record start-up helped Chrysler get its new mini-van to market ahead of the competition.
