DETROIT, 1984: YEAR OF THE C.A.D
The author looks at the state-of-the art and future prospects of computer aided design (CAD) in the US automobile industry. It is shown that the move to computerize automotive design using the latest technology will cut design time and revamp wasted procedures. More efficient than drafting and less frustrating than blueprints, the process involves a radical change in design procedures.
