THE USE OF COMPUTERS IN PLANNING PRACTICE
HET GEBRUIK VAN MICROCOMPUTERS IN DE PLANOLOGISCHE PRAKTIJK
The article deals with the results of a recent study into the use of microcomputers for planning purposes at municipal level. The study was not carried out for specific transportation purposes but it is evident that survey work in the field is among the municipal planning activities. The aim of the study was to draw up an inventory of present use of hardware and software, of what planning work can be done with the aid of computers, difficulties to be faced, attitudes towards automation, possibilities in the near future and consequences for university training in planning.
