SOUND DECISIONS FOR PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT
The article discusses the development of a comprehensive pavement management program for the city of Green River, Wyoming. The program was developed under contract with an outside consulting firm, which identified current pavement operational characteristics and pavement conditions; analyzed the data collected and provided indexes for each pavement section of structural adequacy, riding comfort, surface deficiencies, and overall pavement quality; identified rehabilitation needs and analyzed rehabilitation alternatives; and prepared a ten-year priority program showing recommended rehabilitation alternatives with respect to budget forecasts.
