A CONTRIBUTION TO THE DETERMINATION OF AN OPTIMUM POLICY FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF A ROAD NETWORK
CONTRIBUTO PER LA DETERMINAZIONE DI UNA POLITICA OTTIMALE DI MANUTENZIONE DI UNA RETE STRADALE
The scope of the research described is to establish the main operative principles for determining an optimum road network maintenance policy. The pavement obsolescence process is analysed and expressed as the variation of a price/bearing capacity curve. The updated cost benefit fluxes of various maintenance projects are determined and graphically constructed as a strictly convex upper bound of all the alternatives examined, from which is identified the solution, leaving the maximum net current value under the hypothesis of an absence of budget restrictions.
