NEW JOHN DEERE INDUSTRIAL TRANSMISSION
Design criteria, major components, unique features, hydraulic circuitry, and durability testing are described which were used to develop a new power shift transmission for the John Deere 844 front end loader. Features include a planetary pack with four forward and three reverse speeds, drop train gears, output shaft with a parking collar, and hydraulic valving. High torque and energy capacity, along with a new pressure-modulating valve, provide smooth and rapid shuttle shifting from the transmission at full power which is vital to the loader's productivity. Extensive laboratory, dynamometer, and field testing has proved the transmission's performance and reliability.
