SITE ACCOMMODATION ON MAJOR ROAD CONTRACTS
The paper describes a contractor's basic requirements for site accommodation and the considerations to be made in satisfying these. Early establishment on site is essential and the acquisition of land and services must reflect this urgency. Careful planning is necessary in chosing the final arrangement of all the site accommodation to ensure efficiency in usage of space, operation and safety. Security can pose separate problems and this aspect must also be included in the planning process. Finally some general comments are made concerning the clearance of the site, and also in respect of a temporary caravan site established for contractor's elmployees. (Author/TRRL)
