SLUMP LOSS AND FREEZE-THAW RESISTANCE OF SUPERPLASTICIZED CONCRETE. INTERIM REPORT
This project was undertaken to develop strategies to reduce the rate of slump loss in high slump superplasticized concretes (flowing concretes). The work was divided into three phases: 1, determination of the effect of mix design parameters and choice of materials on slump loss, and the effect of redosing and retempering the concrete; 2, investigation of the mechanisms of slump loss through study of the physico-chemical aspects of cement admixture interactions; 3, assessment of the frost resistance of superplasticized concrete. The results of phases 1 and 3 are summarised in parts A and B of this interim report. See also TRIS abstract no. 386590. (TRRL)
