LOW-FUEL SHUTDOWN CAN EXTEND ENGINE COMPONENT LIFE
An electronic fuel level engine control monitors fuel level; when fuel falls to a preset level, the operator is warned and, after a time, the engine is shut down unless fuel has been added. Once an engine has been turned off, sufficient fuel must be added to reach another preset level before operation can be restarted. By taking fueling away from operator control, the need for carburetor priming or purging diesel fuel systems and injectors is virtually eliminated.
